Mayor of Vancouver, Gregor Robertson addressed a congratulatory letter. Dr. Chris Zhang gave good appraisal on contestants’ exploration and confidence and appreciated WER’s role in promotion of scientific and technological literacy.

Cooperation of domestic and foreign contestants

As introduced by Dr. Chris Zhang, WER emphasizes fairness and equivalence. It stresses on the personal ability of students and the team spirit. During the contests, students need to analyze the tasks, create plans and debut on themselves without the instruction of coaches. Meanwhile, to avoid the unfairness caused by difference in equipment, Abilix is the exclusively designated platform of WER. As global developer and leader of world educational robots, Abilix aims to cultivate adolescents’ success ability: the balanced utilization of analytic, creative and practical abilities. It works hard to enhance adolescents’ scientific and technological literacy, which conforms to the educational ideas of WER.
