2015 International Educational Robot Forum was held on Nov.29, 2015 in the Lecture Hall of FIT Building, Tsinghua University. There were many educators, robotics experts and front-line teachers from home and abroad addressing on the forum. Experts had extensive and in-depth discussions on the status quo and development of the global educational robotics and communicated the latest concepts of educational robotics, which plays an important role in promoting the further development of robotics education in our country and professional growth of robotics teachers.

The origin of educational robotics can be traced back to 1989, the 6.270 curriculum founded by Parker, Martin and Sargent at MIT. The curriculum introduced robotic design practice into university engineering education. Britain started to found robot curriculum at primary schools; In 1999, Beer researched the application of robot in science and engineering education. Israel started high school robot curriculum in 2001; In 2007, Kao researched the application of robot in curriculum.

In China in 1996, global inventor of educational robots-Abilix was founded. In 1998, Dr. Yun Weimin researched on how to apply educational robots to IT classes. At the same year, Abilix released the earliest educational robot product AS-M. In 2002, China wrote educational robot contents in elementary education system. Having undergone 10-year development, educational robot, as ideal platform to train students’ practical and creative ability, has been proved excellent.
